By MMP James Ogle [Free Parliamentary] Go Draft "Everybody's Name with an Issue"/Nott for President! A 2008 write in/voter registration drive #1__ Write in your name #1 [?] #2__ Nott #2 [Libertarian] #3 __ Go Ogle #3 [Free Parliamentary] You for President, and Nott for Vice President: "Why Nott?" We can all be #1, Nott #2, and have a US vice presidential candidate on our team, Cory Nott, who is 35 or older and a US born citizen. A mathematician and programmer, he has the sense of humor to allow his name to be everybody's vice presidential candidate, and he agrees with our rules which require ranking of names starting with the number one, when voting. He's OK with "your name #1". As a father, husband and owner of two family businesses (one of which requires knowledge of up to seven computer program languages), he will not have time to be campaigning except on a microscopic scale, if at all. He's competent, but he's also realistic. We all have real responsibilities. However, if he were to be "Nott swept into power", he (like you and I), will either accept the job or stand down. And if/when anyone elected to the US Parliament "stands down", the original stack of ballots is recounted, and the name with the next highest sum of rankings on the original stack of ballots cast is automatically elected in their stead. Thoughout the entire four year term. A self described "fiscal conservative and social liberal", VP nominee Cory Nott [Libertarian] wields these talents and others, all this combined with being a humble man of few words. We have a few small concrete agreements between a few key members of the CA Peace and Freedom Party and the CA Libertarian Party. Let's adopt the rules, rules which facilitate a much higher level of satisfaction, 66.66% plus two votes , to elect a US president and vice president. Under rules #3 and #4, as written by Mike Ossipoff [Peace and Freedom] who is now retired from electoral methods, we use instant runoff voting to pass the rules by a majority, or ruling coalition. (The only change from Ossipoff's original words in 2008; instead of being called MVP or majority preference voting, we call it the IRV or instant runoff voting). Most mathematicians agree, when one candidate gets more rankings, their name should be elected #100, over he/she who gets fewer rankings. The NEW System The "parliamentary go-ahead" agreement is that we will seat parties with one "seat", in the order based on the ballots cast as proof. As in 2007, in the "Central California Mini-state Parliament Election"; http://www.usparliament.org/ss11-6.htm Although we are a microscopic organization, our structure would potentially be able to handle data from large numbers of ballots cast, as well as from small numbers of ballots cast, which ever is the case. Best, James Ogle |
